Sociologist Forrest E. LaViolette studied at Reed College and the University of Chicago. In 1943 He served as a community analyst at the Heart Mountain Relocation Center.
Akira Omoto, born in California in 1904, was interned at Heart Mountain Relocation Center from August, 1942 to October, 1945. Omoto died in San Francisco in 1975.
